At Happy Hands, we have a fabulous team of dedicated practitioners who work closely with the children to help them learn and develop every day. Meet the team who work with us to support and care for your children.
Elaine Currey
Owner
Elaine is the Owner of the Nursery and ensures the efficient running of the setting. She maintains the quality of the provision within the setting and the environment, she welcomes apprentices and guides them into dedicated practioners with a passion for high quality childcare.
Elaine has seen the nursery transformed from a shell of a building into the successful caring environment it is now.
Within the 14 years we have been open Happy Hands has been transformed in many ways. We have recently undergone a renovation which has allowed us to open up the setting to more opportunities for children.
As of September 2026 we are proud to be expanding Happy Hands into the Dallington area.
Qualifications:
BA Hons. Early Childhood studies (Level 6)

Alan Currey
Co-Owner
Alan is the co-owner of the nursery and monitors the day-to-day running of the nursery and takes responsibilty for matters such as building maintenance and security.
Jon Currey
Director
Jon works very closely with the General Manager and oversees the financies and ensures the Nursery remains solvent.
He also helps out with general maintenance within the Nursery.
Kim Johnson
Company Secretary
Kim is the Company Secretary and is responsible for all the financial transactions of the nursery.

Jade Butcher
Manager &
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Jade has the overall responsibility of all staff within the nursery. She reports to the four Directors of the business.
She is also responsible for the care, education and the environment in the rooms ensuring the Curriculum is followed, enabling the children to become independent learners.
Jade ensures that the children are receiving the highest Standard of Care and Education.

Natasha Buswell
Manager
Tasha is the Manager at our Dallington site, ensuring everything runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. She supports both children and families, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality care and education in a welcoming setting.
Working alongside Tasha are Paula and Sadie, who support her in maintaining the highest standards of care and education throughout the nursery. Together they create a safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive and grow.
Qualifications:
Level 6 in Early Childhood Studies.

Taylor Cattell
Deputy Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Taylor is our Qualified Practitioner in the Rising 2's Room, where she works alongside Evie. She ensures that the activities are suitable for the age-range and holds their interest of the children.
Taylor is one of our Deputy Managers alongside Mira where they both support the Manager & Curriculum manager and steps up and takes over the role when necessary.

Mira Begum
Deputy Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Mira is our Qualified Practitioner in the Toddlers Room, where she works alongside Havannah and Hannah. She ensures that the activities are suitable for the age-range and holds their interest of the children.
Mira is one of our Deputy Managers alongside Taylor where they both support the Manager & Curriculum manager and steps up and takes over the role when necessary.

Jessica Markie
Lead SENCo
Jess works as supernumerant within the setting where she has the opportunity to work in all 6 rooms, supporting the Room Leaders and staff.
As the SENCo she supports children with additional needs, and also helps staff to ensure the children benefit from their time at nursery.
Jess will report to the Manager and Deputy Managers.

Alisha Currey
Admin Assistant
Alisha is the Admin Assistant, supporting the day-to-day running of the Nursery.
She supports our rooms with paperwork and works closely with the Managers to help ensure everything runs efficiently.
Tia Johnson-Thomas
Early Years Practitioner
Tia is the Qualified Practitioner in the Baby room, where she works alongside Gracie. She is responsible for the Care, Education and the Environment in the room ensuring they are of a high standard.
The team work well together making sure that the room is set up and welcoming for all children to have positive experiences.
She works closely with the staff in the Walkers & Talkers to ensure the children are ready to move up.

Kerry Smith
Early Years Practitioner
Kerry is based in the Rising 3's Room who supports and works well with Sydney and Roselet. As a team they ensure that the room is welcoming and that the activities are set up daily for the children, ensuring that they are getting what they need.
Kerry will work closely with the Pre School Room in getting her children ready to move up ensuring a smooth transition.

Aimee Richardson
Early Years Practitioner
Aimee is supernumerant, so she will go into all 6 rooms when required to support the education for all children, as well as supporting the Room Leaders and staff members.

Eleanor Barker
Early Years Practitioner
Eleanor is one of our Qualified Practitioner within the Pre School Room. She supports the Room Leader and the other staff members.
She ensures there is a range of activities which follow the children's interest. She also supports the other team members within the room to ensure the children are school ready.
The team works well together ensuring the room is set up and welcoming for the children so that they have a positive experience.

Katie Currey
Early Years Practitioner
Katie is our Room Leader who works in the Walkers & Talkers Room alongside Beth.
Katie and Beth work well as a team to ensure that the room is welcoming for all the children therefore making sure that they have a postiive experience within the setting.
She works closely with the staff in the Baby Room to ensure the children are ready to move up.

Paula will be working at our Dallington Site alongside Tasha and Sadie.
As a team they will work together to ensure that the space is a welcoming and stimulating environment where the children are encouraged to explore a wide range of activities that support their learning and development.
Roselet Jose
Early Years Assistant
Roselet works within the Rising 3's Room supporting the Room Leader. As a team they work well together ensuring that the room is welcoming for all the children so they have a postiive experience.
She works well at supporting the children with independence and key skills to help them prepare for the transition into Pre School.
Gracie King
Apprentice
Gracie is an Apprentice who works within the Baby Room, she is supported by the Qualified Practitioner.
They work well as a team ensuring that the room is welcoming for all the children so they have a postiive experience.
Havanna Bennett
Apprentice
Havanna is an Apprentice who works within the Toddlers, she is supported by the Qualified Practitioner.
They work well as a team ensuring that the room is welcoming for all the children and that all activites are set up.
Evelyn Byers
Apprentice
Evie is an Apprentice who is based within the Rising 2's Room she closely with the Qualified Practitioner. They work well as a team to ensure that the room is warm and welcoming.
She ensure that the room is set up with high qaulity activities and that the room is kept at a high standard.
Beth Hellewell
Apprentice
Beth is one of our Apprentices who works within the Walkers & Talkers Room where she works closely with the Room Leader. She helps to ensures there is a range of activities which follow the children's interest.
The team works well together ensuring the room is set up and welcoming for the children so that they have a positive experience.
Megan Berrington
Apprentice
Megan is one of our Apprentices who works within the Pre School Room where she works closely with the Room Leader and other staff members.
She helps to ensures there is a range of activities which follow the children's interest, as well as getting them prepar4ed to school life.
Sadie McGuire
Apprentice
Sadie is one of our apprentices who will be working at our Dallington Site alongside Tasha and Paula.
As a team they will work together to ensure that the space is a welcoming and stimulating environment where the children are encouraged to explore a wide range of activities that support their learning and development.
Annika Barlow
Ancillary/Cook
Annika's role in the setting is within the Kitchen, where she works with Tanzila to provide the children with a variety of delicious and well balanced snacks and meals. As well as supporting the staff in the rooms at meal times and snack time.
They both work well together to ensure that the kitchen meets the standards required by the food hygiene agency, this is apparent as she holds their Level 5 rating.
Tanzila Islam
Ancillary/Cook
Tanzila works closely with Annika within the Kitchen to provide the children with a variety of delicious and well balanced snacks and meals. As well as supporting the staff in the rooms at meal times and snack time.
They both work well together to ensures the kitchen meets the standards required by the food hygiene agency.
